Same functionality as macnub's AppleSMBios 27 r6.

thanks, i actually just compiled this myself yesterday as i couldn't find it online. From the looks of it apple has only changed one line of code between the 10.5.2 and 10.5.3 applesmbios.

Just use applesmbiosenabler.kext and never worry about applesmbios.kext again.

Not working for me ! (10.5.3), because About Mac crashes. (Crash then Login Window restarts).

It crashes the About Mac again, i solved with using the Chun-Nans AppleSMBBios.
Working near PERFECT .
But there is no hw-Serial Nr.

I have EFI, can i set serial number (some Apps crash if there is no hw-serial number set) in the by efi strings add in boot.plist ?

Your new 28er version, beside the About Mac crashes , let me install the app which wants an hw-serialnumber.

applesmbiosenabler.kext isnt that good, shutdown doesnt work with it.

does it work with kalyway 10.5.3? or do I really need it?

Thanks for the great kext. Works absoloutely fantasticly on P5W DH hackintosh. About this Mac doesn't crash and not even GeekBench knows it's a hackintosh! Boot up was also faster than ever. SERIOUSLY!

Thank you for the update, I tested it and mostly reporting correct beside the amount of RAM.
It only show 2GB in About This Mac while I am actually have 6GB installed. System Profiler reporting correct RAM.

Same problem as this guy, About This Mac crashes with every AppleSMBIOS.kext, including this one. The only solution I've found is removing the kext, this stops the crash but causes more problems than it solves, some programs need it to function. Good kext though, boot's a bit faster.

Unfortunately this AppleSMBIOS (and the 27 version), prevent FireWire 800 drives from mounting. If I use netkas' version the drives mount fine. Anybody know why this AppleSMBIOS version has issues with FW800?
