I was told if I jailbreak my iPhone any updates through iTunes will brick my phone, I am not to familiar with all of this so any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you, I am also trying try to install Leopard on my PC should be interesting haha

Each firmware has it's own specific jailbreak method developed.

Upgrade to firmware 1.1.4, and you can use either Ziphone or iLiberty+ to jailbreak it. I am familiar with ZiPhone, so when you run it, follow the instructions (make sure iTunes is running and see's the iPhone), and simply press "Jailbreak".

Since 1.1.4 is the last firmware before 2.0, it makes sense that the next firmware update will pose as an issue to your phone. Wait until that firmware has been jailbroken and that Installer.app and a number of other apps work on the new firmware, as the frameworks have changed.

Don't ever use ZiPhone, it is very dangerous and can brick/damage your phone. Why Avoid Ziphone?
Pwnage tool is the most safest and easiest way.

If all the OP is looking to do is jailbreak, then there isn't any issue with using ZiPhone. The problems stated in that article relate to flashing the S-Gold2 bootloader, which has nothing to do with the s5l8900 bootloader, and that is what the jailbreak deals with. Jailbreak does not touch the S-Gold2 bootloader, and poses no threat to bricking your device, as the s5l8900 has DFU mode which is located in bootROM (bootRead-Only-Memory) and cannot be modified, so restoring is always possible.

Please, the next time you go to at least link to something that shows a threat with a certain tool, at least make sure you know what is stated in the article versus the objective of the OP.

Seems pretty clear that is the intention.

The article you posted shows concern in the unlocking aspect, which is shown by the mention of the 3.9 and 4.6 bootloaders and how each tool handles it (be it wrong or right), so that means that it had nothing to do with the jailbreaking aspect of the iPhone. So if the issue with ZiPhone is only in the unlocking aspect of the application, and not the jailbreaking aspect... then what is so wrong with using ZiPhone to simply just jailbreak?




As I proved, you weren't correct in warring away from ZiPhone based on the OP's post.

I can confirm as I witnessed it first hand.

Read a little closer. See the words "Some versions", with "some" being the key word? That means not all, and most likely not the latest version.

Yea looks very thrustworthy.

I've used the program numerous times, on over 15 iPhones.

None have given me any problems.

Don't use ziphone, its not as safe as the other options.


iLiberty plus is a pretty safe new one thats easy to use. pwnage is a little harder to do but a little safer, from what I know.
