Here are the details of what I have installed into an Antec Sonata Case:
- Gigabyte GA-8PE667 motherboard.
- Chipset Intel Brookdale i845PE
- Socket 478
- Intel Pentium 4, 2533 MHz (19 x 133)
- 2 DIMMS of 512 MB of DDR Memory PC2700
- ATI Radeon 9600 video card
- Terratec SixPack 5.1+ sound card, optionally I can use the onboard Realtek AC'97 (ALC650) soundcard
- Different sizes Seagate IDE drives.
- Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-108
- Plextor PX-W2410A
One of my main concerns is the Internet connectivity, because I'm connected using a 3,5G HSDPA card, a Novatel Wireless Ovation HSDPA Modem. The ISP provides a driver and software for MacOS X and it says is compatible with Tiger and Leopard.
The processor only supports SSE2, but I think I could upgrade easily and with not too much cost to a SSE3 enable Pentium IV Prescott processor.
Do you think it's worth to try?
Wich OS X should I go for?
