how to search in usb drive and usb disk?

i have a usb disk (hdd 80gb) connected to my del xps m1530

i cannot search files and folders in my external drive

what i do ?!?!?!
please help me . (sorry for my bad english)

Open Finder, Click your USB device in the side bar, Type in the search bar in the top right corner, and click Search :"+your usb drive+"

please tell me more with a sample !
i cannot search on this way . my usb disk lable is MyDisk-01
