So for the past four months I have attempted to get a OSX86 install to work properly on my Inspiron 9300 with no success. Last night I got fed up with the installation process and erased my OSX86 partition which I believe was set as my active primary partition. Now whenever I boot up my computer I get a B0 error which for OSX86 means that its partition is not set to active.I think what I need to do is set my Windows XP Partition to be active again but I can't do that because I can no longer boot into Windows to access the Disk Management Tools. Does anyone know something that I can do to fix this issue? Or how to set my XP partition to active and primary through Dos or another boot up program?

Edit: As an additional update I booted up the gParted disk that I had on hand and checked the flags associated with the drive. I found that there were no flags on it so I set a Boot flag to it. I hoped that this would just circumvent the B0 error but it didn't. I still think that if I set the Partition to active that it would take care of this problem. I just don't know how to do it.

So I downloaded a Mini-PE disk because of the various tools that it would open up to me. Using Mini-PE and Partition Magic I found out that my Windows Partition was in fact active. My next step was to take out my Hard Drive and put it in an enclosure. I figure that my problem has something to do with the Chain0 file and tampering with boot.ini that I performed with the initial installation of Kalyway Leopard.I put the hard drive in the enclosure and was able to delete Chain0 but was unable to edit the boot.ini file. I could delete the command line that I added initially but I was not able to safe the changes. I added C:\chain0="Mac OS X86" to the last line of boot.ini on initial install.This is the guide that I followed with initial installation. http://maconpc.distinctlyjordan.com/2008/0...xp-and-leopard/So I'm at a loss of what to do next. I'm thinking that I should copy the boot.ini file and then edit it. After I edit it I was going to copy it to my Hard Drive and replace the boot.ini. But I'm not really even sure that the problem lies with the boot.ini, I'm simply hoping it will work.As a last resort I figure I can reinstall OSx86. This may just fix the problem and I'll just have to live with hitting another key to boot into Windows, but at this point I only hope that a fresh install will fix my issue.To circumvent my read/write problem I downloaded Paragon NTFS and edited the boot.ini. It had no effect on boot up. I'm going to go ahead and reinstall the OSx86 operating system after replacing Chain0 and boot.ini and see if it takes care of the B0 error.

So I figured out the problem. There was a problem with the MBR (Master Boot Record). I popped in my Windows Install CD and ran the Windows Recovery console. I used the command, "chkdsk /r" to search and repair errors and then the "fixmbr" to fix the Master Boot Record. Afterwards Windows booted without a problem. Also just to be sure everything was taken care of I went ahead and deleted the Chain0 file added when installing OSx86 and reedited boot.ini to take out the line about OSx86. Hope this helps anyone with this problem in the future.
