Full Version: [iPod] Sync to other PC is data loss?

Hey everyone!

I've gotten an [free, lol] iPod Classic about half a year ago and since then been loading music on it and using it as an external hard disk. Now I have backup maps on the iPod, but had to re-install Windows XP, where it was Sync'd to, so it needs a re-sync now, but my question is, will I lose the backup folders that I placed on my iPod, or only the music and stuff that are saved within the iPods 'hidden' folders, where your music and all is stored?

My backup maps are like, on <iPod Drive Letter>:/BACKUPS.

Also, sorry if this doesn't belong here.. If it doesn't, mods, please feel free to move it to the right forum. smile.gif

Did you back up your entire library? (.itl file included)

No no, it's not really the music and library files I'm worried about, I have all the music backed up already in maps, all I'm worried about are the backup maps I dragged to my iPhone's (root?) drive, will they also be erased/modified if I re-sync to a different OS?
