Hello there ;o
Today I have downloaded and installed Parallels 3.0.5584 so I could run Windows applications who wouldn't run on Mac.
everything worked fine for about 5 minutes when suddenly Parallels crashed. relaunched it and once again after a few minutes it crashed again (after XP install).
I have also noticed that the ram usage was HUGE, I had only 11mb ram left while running Parallels (I specified that the VM would only have 368mb RAM).
My computer specs:
QUOTE
Intel Core 2 Duo E2140 - 1.6GHz @ 1.84GHz (OC'd)
Biostar 945GC Micro 775
Kingston 2GB DDR2 667MHz (Dual Channel - 2x1gb)
Western Digital WD2500KS-00MJB0 250GB SATA2 (16MB Bufer - 7200RPM)
Hitachi DeskStar HDS721616PLA380 160GB SATA2 (8MB Buffer - 7200RPM)
Inbuilt Realtek RTL8139 Ethernet 10/100 LAN
Inbuilt Realtek ALC862 HD Audio Controller
Sparkle GeForce 8500GT 512MB HDMI HDTV DVI-D PCI-E
iATKOS 2.0i > Leopard 10.5.2

well, is it just me or is it a common problem in hackintosh computers? wacko.gif

--Edit:
Well, I have downloaded VMWare Fusion now and installed XP. everything works well and fast without crashes BUT the ram usage is still high.

What can I do? >_<

ouch.
I have a trauma from my old Tiger - it fried my computer for 3 times (well, the old one but still). thats why I'm afraid of this RAM usage
So... is it okey using VMWare with this usage of ram? I dont want another fried mobo/processor/ram stick

ow and I just noticed that you have edited your post. Fixed my signature tongue.gif

Even that you see that there is not much free memory left in Mac OS, is not like windows, there is better handle of memory in Mac OS.

In any case what you select there is Virtual Memory column not real memory.
