This is apologetically simple I'm sure for everyone, but if you have no network drivers and you're in VMWare, how did you actually get the drivers onto the VM machine? It won't detect USB and mapping local folders (via VM) doesn't seem to get me anything.

Never mind...I found the answer. Just added ethernet0.virtualDev="e1000" to the VMX file and all is well.

Just calrify wich guest OS are you using.
