im currently i the process of selling my iphone so i can get as much as i can before people start waiting.
im just hoping there going to be the same price! i already have a contract so lets just hope they get it unlockable soon as!

You can probably expect an unlock/jailbreak for the iPhone 2 firmware very shortly after the release of the thing. You'll be all "WOW THAT WAS FAST", but really the hackers will have had access to the firmware wayy before the release through the Apple Developer programme -- but you can be sure they'll do a great job as usual.

My personal opinion.

Since the firmware is "similar" and the current betas have been unlocked, I say yes.
Maybe not on the same day, nor week, who knows, but I think it will be faster than the
first time.

ZiPhone and iPwner can jailbreak the 2.0 firmware.

I can see Geohot working on the hardware part of unlocking it again. Shouldn't be too hard for him if he tries, since the hardware wont differ too terribly.

do you think it worth it selling my current gen iphone and wait for the new one. im currently using a samsung mobile in waiting. im just trying to work out how long we are going to be waiting lol

WWDC will most likely have an announcement, if anything. We might even get "Shipping Today" at WWDC, but an announcement at least.

If your going to sell your iPhone do it now before the worth of used first gen iPhones goes down a good bit.

it will work fine, 20 firware is for both devices, so "pawning" should work fine if they update the code for final 2.0 firmware.

I got 4 iPhones, sold 1 for $550. the second one for $700. , I will keep the other 2.
I will keep $600 spare to buy the new iPhone when it comes out, and the other $500 for a PS3.
