I'm going to college this August for either Computer Science or Information Assurance. I already have a first revision intel iMac, Compaq, and a 20 dollar cheep sold at a college. So I am not in need of a computing power.
Obviously a Macbook is going to be much more powerful but the portablity and the amount of cost.
I am just really torn on which to purchase and am just looking for some opinions.

I have them both, sadly the EeePC is rotting away in a corner as a server-only. ;p
I'd go for a Macbook. I have one (2.1 model) and it works awesomely good. Not even a slightest regret in my purchase.
Then again, the EeePC would be cheaper I guess, but it's fugly. But I usually go more for the looks. So Macbook gets a vote from me ;]

They're very different...It really depends on what you value most. The EEEPC is far lighter and smaller compared to the Macbook, and is adequate for light needs. The Macbook is far more versatile though.

i'm planning on getting a eee pc for travel and when i'm watching tv... for me thats the only thing that it would be useful for... if you got used to the slightly smaller keyboard you could take notes in class with it.
