Interesting that you dig up Republican campaign tactics from 2000 but I'll be happy to address it anyway.
The original $500,000 of stock was owned by the Gore estate, Gore Sr, Al Gore's father. At Mr. Gore's request, all of his father's stock in Occidental (Oxy) Petroleum was sold almost six years ago as the estate was closed. I believe everything is in his mother's name now.
