You are welcome, but I am beginning to believe that they look in all their glory only in KDE4 smile.gif

Yeah, i just tried them on my Vista install, and not so great.

I have to say, some backgrounds can only look good with some operating system and their default themes.

IE. Ubuntu 7.10 and OS X Tiger

I have been lazy with understanding KDE4 better, but could it have something to do with KWin/4.0?

KWin, the KDE Window Manager from KDE 3, now provides its own compositing effects, similar to Compiz. Compositing is disabled by default in 4.0.

(But this is 4.1 Alpha 1).

When it comes to beauty, there is no doubt that KDE4 is a kicka$$ desktop.
Concerning bugs and features we'll have to wait a little longer.
snakeeyes
I thought opensuse developers r back porting many features as well, is this true?

Yes, but still KDE4 doesn't have as many features as KDE3.5

I might toy around with it, but I have never been impressed with OpenSUSE's live CDs. They always seem to be lacking in stability. Linux needs to be run from a normal hard disk.

KDE4.1 looks exciting though! How is the stability?
snakeeyes
Well we will find out how stable it is once its out though. wink.gif

Kde 4.1 I doubt is stable right now as its in development.

KDE 4 is extremely frustrating to use. It feels like an alpha. It's not stable until Slackware ships it wink.gif

KDE 3 is still awesome though.

Well, it is Alpha 1, so you can imagine.

When Patrick adopts something, it is super stable. A bit too conservative, perhaps.
