Well, it appears Al Gore came back into the spotlight and has used the cyclone tragedy in Myanmar to global warming. People have already said he is taking advantage of this tragedy to try and advance ManBearPig, and the question is "Is it right to exploit a natural disaster to advance your cause?"

No,

Do not get me wrong, I love capitalism, I love the dog eat dog business world. But exploiting people's or animal's (in PETA's case) misfortunes for publicity is wrong. Especially when the publicity is not to attract attention to the actual event that happened to bring awareness to it, but to bring attention to the person or organization who is exploiting the unfortunate event.

These people and organizations have absolutely no respect or humility for the actual people they claim to be advocates for. All they do is run off at the mouth to make headlines and make a buck. It is absolutely pathetic. I do not understand how these people could live with themselves.

My rant for the day...

Sounds like his buddy elitist Bush exploiting 9/11 for his own power gains.

The reason why there is such a tragedy in Myanmar is because they cut down the mangroves, which allowed the whether surge to destroy such large areas.

It's not right that Al Gore blames this on global warming. As it stands, global climate destablisation may have caused the cyclone to be larger, or to take a different course than expected, but there are scientists to work that out, not politicians.

Al Gore has the right idea most the time, but he needs to let the scientists work things out first

Al Gore is a great guy but he exaggerates to try to prove his point. Its a fault in his character, but there are far worse faults to have...

Perhaps the fault of not being able to accept evidence or facts. Or seeing half the story and taking it as a whole. Or taking a mere coincidence or accident as a sign of complete and perfect disproof....

I know one or two people with that flaw sleep.gif
