Hi there,

i got a problem with the above system.

Neither OS 9 (patched to 9.1, 9.21 and 9.22), nor OS 10.2 (patched to 10.2.8) are "capable" of internet sad.gif

The builtin network adapter does not receive an adress from my router (as WinXP PC and MacBookPro do). From within terminal i figuered out via ifconfig, that it doesnīt handle out a valid speed and duplex (link state: inactive). Anybody a hint how to fix that???

Cheers

You'll have to find the Apple Hardware Test CD that matches your model to see if your Ethernet is fried. If you don't want to go that route, try plugging in an ethernet PCI card. If it works, then you know it's hardware. If it doesn't work, then we know it's software

Chances are you'll have to go to eBay to get one. Download Mactracker to get the specific hardware test CD for it.

You might want to try Macsales.com for an ethernet card (or alternatively to get a perfectly compatible model and buy elsewhere). Let's make 100% sure there isn't a problem with the OS.

Hmm, found two test images in Apple support, but they werenīt suitable at all for my hardware sad.gif

Since i installed Tiger my 3COM 905C is recognized and works flawlessly, so not a problem any more wink.gif
