We must have something like this for Intel users!! tongue.gif I remember I posted this idea on the forum a while ago, but I never thought that this would actually happen!

THANKS Zephyroth smile.gif
WinLinMac01
I remember suggesting this kind of idea about a month ago, but for AMD users specifically. It was a truly a surprise for the all of us! =)

All updates have been safe for me...so far. I think it's more useful for AMD people because their hardware is less compatible.

I'm on my way to test this, thanks a bunch biggrin.gif

Fantastic work! thumbsup_anim.gif

Is it only for Leopard? would be great to build it on Tiger (while I wait for the Leopard instant reboot to get resolved wink.gif )

Can't get it to run on Tiger, so I presume so ... ?

Cheers

Nice!.I am going to try this for sure...I am tired of patching and replacing files every time that an update is released.I have 5 Leo install to test (and crash... laugh.gif )
WinLinMac01
We all are in the same boat for sure. biggrin.gif
You don't know how happy I am in regards to this. Makes our lives easier, lol. =)
Leave our worries away now.

The link to the file in the first post is broken it goes to
File not found
because the address to the file looks like this in the address bar:
CODE
http://rapidshare.com/files/112202332/AMD-...Update.zip.html
#-Moe-#
I've tried running it, but after downloading a list with updates, it throws an error at me saying "variable tout_le_fichiers is not defined"..
Is there anybody else that gets this error?
lord_muad_dib
i admit i haven't tried it yet, but seems it lacks an option to save what is deleted from the update(e.g system.kext). when a new patched kernel will be out.. noobs wil start asking why they cannot mount pendrives etc... you need an option to backup deleted files on the update package
WinLinMac01
Thanks, I have just updated the link. The file can now be found in a directory from old releases to new. Install the most recent one available by date, and enjoy. =)

I'm wondering where the error comes from in the installer, is it possible to have a look into the source code?
WinLinMac01
A fix is being developed right now by Zephyroth. Please be patient. biggrin.gif

Good work. When's the final stable release coming?
WinLinMac01
Zephyroth is currently in the works of another beta release. Hopefully by the end of this week, that will come out.
The official release is still unclear. Therefore, we will have to wait in what he has to say. =)

I'm still getting no further than waiting for the download to begin sad.gif

A list of updates is displayed. I select one with none of the tick boxes selected.

Then get no further unfortunately.
WinLinMac01
Don't worry, you are not the only one. There are other reports in relation to the same thing. We will have to wait and find out what Zephyroth has to say. Sorry. sad.gif

zephyroth did an update!!!

UPDATE :

- I've just managed to install LeopardGraphicsUpdate with my app (no present anymore in the list of available updates)
All goes well, system is stable after the installation of ALL updates. (On my system).

- Added detection of the description of the EPSON Printer Driver Update.

- The way the temporary created folder for downloads is detected has changed. I will put the new version on my InfiniteMac space this morning.

The link has been removed. Sorry.
scoobydu

No problem development takes time; I can wait.

It was v0.3 that I was referring to, so will have to wait for any further updates smile.gif

AMD-Software-Update (Version 0.3) ----> http://zephyroth.infinitemac.com/AMD%20Sof...te-0.3-Beta.zip
From Zephyroth:

This is a BETA so don't use it on your everyday partition. Everyone who want to localize it in its native language is welcomed ! This app can do the following : - Download updates. - Modify updates (remove mach_kernel and critical extensions, modify GeForce.kext and NVDAResman, search and apply cpuids and decrypt encrypted files). - Install updates. I managed to update Leopard-10.5.1 to 10.5.2. Many improvments need to be done before to integrate this app in a release. - LeopardGraphicsUpdate does not install correctly as well as some others updates) - Some kext like System.kext are not removed - ... If you want to test it make sure to create a spare partition with a test installation of Leopard !!! PS: German people, don't laugh at me ... I've localized it with the translator widget ... :-))))))) LINK: http://rapidshare.com/files/111330061/AMD-...Update.zip.html Update 04/30/2008 - I have moved the options drawer to the right. Don't worry if log is already opened it's closed before to open options and vice-versa). - Only one instance can now be launched. - Downloaded and modified packages are now placed placed in /Users/$USER/Downloads - I'm working on the installation issue for some packages. News about the localization GERMAN : The file Localizable.strings has already been localized by Fire. The interface is being localized by Naquaada. We still need people to localize it in others languages !!!

There will be a final stable release appearing as soon as every one confirms that the updater is working on their systems (without problems). Also, there are some bugs that Zephyroth is working out on his side, so it will take unknown amount of time. However, so far so good. biggrin.gif

If you are having the problem with the Software Updates failing to start downloading, try deleting the /Library/Updates folder. That worked for me.

Can't wait for the first non-beta release. My system is working so flawlessly with Zephyroth 10.5.2 that I don't want to screw up installing something that can break it.
