Hi there!

has anyone else had this issue?
I have a dual core 1.7ghz with both cores enabled, but when I use logic8 only 1 core seems to work! I sometimes have one or two lines showing on the other core but it isn't used at all!
The core that is used goes up to 100% causing awfull glitches and I realy wonder why the other one is unsed?
Is there something I can/should tweak for geting it working?
In e.g. protools I can choose the cpu I want to work!

any solutionings very appreciated!
thank you

i've noticed this as well, mostly when bouncing Offline as opposed to in Real time. not sure what the deal is with this.

Sounds strange I have the q6600 and all 4 cores works in Logic. Try to put your memory like: slot 1 first module, slot 2 empty, slot 3 next, slot 4 empty or if you have 4 modules be sure they are same amount of mb each one of them, maby you get some configuration problems.

sad.gif I only have 2 slots on my laptop!
but thank you for the tip anyway smile.gif!

what is the leaving one slot out supposed to achieve?

thx & peace

Sorry I didŽnt realize it was a laptop I was thinking you had some kind of dual channel problem. IŽm not sure but I think dual channel is not supported in a hack so I was guessing you had some kind of memory configuration problems.

how could you have known? sry my fault! smile.gif

I've noticed smth interesting!
since I have an e-drumkit connected per midi to drummer_EZ smile.gif and used it just to jam I had allways the same situation! start a session open EZD and the 1 cpu remains 1/2 loaded without doing anything! playing causes 3/4 to full load!

now, I've recorded smth and afterwards the cpu load went down to zero!!
playing back caused the 2 cpu to get used!

could it be that logic organizes the usage of cpu smth like 1 cpu for live activities and 2(or both) for playing back?
why did the cpu load go to 0 after recording?
weird!
will keep on experimenting and post back in!
btw, i have a dual core 1,7 ghz and 2gb ram

I've just posted a Logic benchmark Thread :

http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...mp;#entry731946

All my cores are working but I too have noticed during the benchmark that the cores usage was tottally unbalanced.

Plz you can all participate to the bench so we can compare and see whats up with our setups. smile.gif
