I am 2 clicks away from ordering my first happymac.GIF OSX86 config !
  • Mushkin EM PC2-6400 4GB 2X2GB DDR2-800 CL5-5-5-18 (Will the full 4 GB be recognized in OSX?) ~79$
  • Intel Pentium Dual Core E2160 Dual Core Processor LGA775 (great for overcloking! (Will it work @3.0ghz in OSX?) ~70$
  • Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L ATX LGA775 P35 1333F (too bad it doesn't have firewire) ~89$
Big total : 240$

Not bad !Any suggestion / comments are appreciated.

I agree totally on those choices and am thinking of getting that myself...pretty sure my newegg wish list has those exact parts. What video card are you going to use? Other than that.. after looking at the site, i think all of those parts will work great and be easy to set up. You might have to use only 1 stick of the ram (the install doens't like having a full 4gb right away) and then putting the 2nd stick in after the install.

Keep me updated on how things are working for you!

You can get those processors new on eBay for $40-50 bucks. Mobo and Memory prices look good.

Yup I'll keep you all posted. I intend to order the stuff on Direct Canada tonight!

P.S. 8400GS is my card for light budget. No heatsink / no noise !

Those fanless cards run hot as hell. I had a Geforce 7600GS in a well vented P4 build. Damn thing ran at almost 75c under load. Lasted 4 months. Never again bought fanless card.
