hey guys, this is my first post, and actually my first time working with mac or a "hackintosh".
everything works great so far except 2 things. first, the actual reason for this topic, apple didnt recognize my ethernet card. i followed the directions and installed the drivers for via rhine and used the directions from this thread. http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...mp;hl=via+rhine. so now my mac sees the ethernet card, but i cant seem to get it to connect to the internet. any ideas, if you need more info please let me know.

also just throwing this out there, but i have a decent enough system, but my mac is kinda sluggish, does this have to do with the kernals, should i install another one?

thanks

Lukios

EDIT: Hey guys just realized that this was a better place to post this thread . . . so sorry for double posting, please reply to me on this thread. thanks.

hey,

is the NIC "green" in the networks preferences?
If you use a router to connect to the internet, just choose an IP of your choice (192.168.0-255.1-254), subnet 255.255.255.0, enter your routers IP into "gateway". Use your favorite DNS servers.
With a modem, most likely your ISP uses PPPoE. So create a PPPoE service, enter your infos and youre good. You don't need to put a "gateway" if you use a modem. All this is done in the network preferences.

If it doesn't work, open Terminal, enter 'ifconfig -a', post the result.

About that sluggishness, could be many things...is your graphics card supported? CI/QE?
