hi!

just wanna ask if it's safe to shrink my hfs+ formatted iPod using Disk Utility... then format the unallocated space as fat32 or ntfs to be used in windows...

Yup, it is safe. Just don't erase the first volume and everything will be OK.
iTunes will detect the size incorrect, but it still works right and you can use the
free space on the other partition. Just remember, if you format it as NTFS, you
can't write on Mac unless you got the right tools, instead use FAT.
