Hi,

Sorry about this friends, but the 'Search' function in this forum is very poor.  It never gives specific results, always a shortlist of forums that may or may not have anything to do with the search parameters.  Other forums have much better, much more accurate Search results, for instance Infinite Mac, or any torrents page.  This site is the best for Hack info so please, how about a search function update?  wink.gif

Use google or for the lazy ~pcwiz's insanely search engine: http://pcwizcomputer.com/osx86search/

Well, it's true for several reasons, mostly because if you search on a hardware model number or individual kext name you get back hundreds of hits that are nothing more than someone else with the same problem. Even if you read the thread 99% of the time it doesn't lead to a solution. Or, if it does, you end up reading a ton of posts before you get to it. Put simply, the search function is not helping people quickly find what they're looking for.

One thing you might consider is a rating system. That way posts that actually offer a solution to a problem could be rated up. Then you could search and limit the results to posts that meet a certain scoring criteria. Just a suggestion.

The way it is now I find that I get better results if, on the search page, I select "individual posts" and limit the timeframe to the last 180 days. It helps to cut down on the noise a lot.

It is old news, but how hard can it be to fix...
