* SOLVED * Atheros 9227 (TP-Link WN851ND) - Not functioning properly...

22 June 2012 - 09:46 PM

Greetings,

As my Belkin FD5001 finally gave up the ghost after 5 years of mackintosh's I decided to replace the wireless card with a low-cost (evidently high-head ache) model.  I'd seen good results of several ATHEROS chipset wireless adapters to I acquired a TP-Link WN851.  I though I was getting an '-n' model but ended up with a '-ND'.

The difference is actually the chipset.

While I've tried about every AR chipset kext on OSX86.net, I've found nothing to work for me yet.

I've tried different combinations of IO8211 and IONetworkingFamily and can't even remember what was original now. I've fumbled through changing deviceIDs in various places as well nothing seems to work.

Can anyone suggest a good guide to methodically isolating possible problems or can point me to a thread I might not have read that might get me back on the wireless high-road?

Much appreciated.

Here's a screenshot of where I am currently..
