The CPU is the c2q q6600. I have both c and p states enabled and I have c1e and speedstep enabled in bios.

In Topic: Errors after updating to 10.8.3

isn't -f different than UseKernelCache=No? I thought -f was mostly for Snow Leopard. Also did you try both npci=0x2000 and npci=0x3000? I know that fixes this error for some people. Also do you have an option to choose ahci or ide in your bios? If you have a patched AppleRTC, the update could have reset your bios settings back to IDE or something.

Here's my suggestion...

You could compare the S/L/E folder of 2 different update packages in the terminal, or a backup if you have one, using this: diff ExtensionsFolderofUpdate1 ExtensionsFolderofUpdate1
here's an example comparing my MBP's drive with my Hackintosh's drive:
Diff /Volumes/Momentus\ XT/System/Library/Extensions /Volumes/Hackintosh\ HD/System/Library/Extensions
You will probably see some things like this:
Common subdirectories: /Volumes/Momentus XT/System/Library/Extensions/EAP-TLS.ppp and /Volumes/Hackintosh HD/System/Library/Extensions/EAP-TLS.ppp
Only in /Volumes/Hackintosh HD/System/Library/Extensions: EPSONUSBPrintClass.kext
Only in /Volumes/Hackintosh HD/System/Library/Extensions: FakeSMC.kext

You can also use -R to search all the subdirectories of each kext, also try man diff which will give you other options.

I don't know how accurate that would be but it may give you a lead and then you could just roll back some kexts if you need to... it's probably a kext related to the hard drives.

I hope that helps a little bit.

Ok so I tried the first one, deleted NCPM and installed LPC_injector.kext. It seems to be working, but only at 2 frequencies, 1.6 ghz and 2.4 ghz. Is that normal for this processor?

Audio did not work after removing VoodooHDA and HDADisabler, I manually loaded AppleHDA and nothing showed in System Profiler or System Prefs. I tried rebooting but I got a PWOD, after removing AppleHDA it was fine. I don't know if the audio is sigmatel or not. How do I tell? I googled the couldn't built-in audio but I'm not finding anything about what codec it is.

In Topic: GMA 4500M Working in Lion and ML

Hello, I am presently running the iAtkos ML2 project version of Mountain Lion 10.8.2 with the 10.8.3 Combo update on an Toshiba Satellite L350-170 Laptop.

I have Intel Graphics Media Accelerator GMA 4500M, this is kind of incomplete since there is no way of changing the resolutions.
I am also unable to install certain programs ie Logic Pro 9 simple because the GMA 4500M is showing as having o Ram; and no Quarter Extreme Capabilities.

Would be very much grateful if anyone knows a solution - And I thank you all in advance to any help that you may be able to offer.

I can't help with qe/ci, but I just wanted to mention that you can install logic pro with pacifist. This is how some of the powerPC users installed it when it first came out, because it had universal binary code but the actual installer was Intel only. I also did this on a friends netbook because he didn't have room for the exs24 samples but the installer required them to be installed.

I have no idea how logic will run without qe/ci though. My guess is at the very least Catch Playhead will have to be turned off to avoid glitches. Also probably turn off the string animation in sculpture.

In Topic: What is better for an UEFI board: Clover or Chameleon?

05 May 2013 - 08:31 PM

Chameleon works just fine, it just has to be booted as a legacy bios disk. All UEFI boards have an option for this. So Chameleon doesn't work natively with UEFI, but it works just fine booted as a legacy disk.

For what it's worth, I was using Clover but I switched back to Chameleon recently after having some odd issues with Clover I couldn't resolve (I'm on UEFI).
