Are you sure there's something there? I mean the USB drive.

#1834457 Why don't you help people with basic questions?

Posted by TheNavigator on 16 July 2012 - 11:54 PM

Just saying, asked about GMA X4500 graphics driver, both eep and PookyMacMan replied "You won't ever find that" So I decided to take the step to code it myself. Didn't finish (or start) yet, though. lol.

I've seen her here, although I'm not really an old member. All what can I say is R.I.P. We've lost a precious good person who wanted to help people :(

#1829831 Final thoughts on Windows 8: awful

Posted by TheNavigator on 27 June 2012 - 10:10 PM

No offense taken. :) I never thought anything you said was against Alessandro. Alessandro has taken the mature path; he has not responded. Venting isn't worth responding to IMO. This statement: is exactly what Graebags was not communicating in the post. From the way it is written, it is an attack, and I think his rebuttal could have been handled in a much more mature way. By now this point is stressed enough; let's get to talking about Windows 8. We don't want petty arguments about who's right and who's wrong. Yes I know, but I guess he should have asked why someone thinks his points were bad :) IMO, Alessandro's awesome. He just need to state why a single point is how he think it is by "1- It's ... 2 - It's.... 3 - It's..." which are actual facts. #12 is a perfect example :) And that's fine. I'll end it.

#1829228 Apple announces new MacBooks and more at WWDC 2012

I guess it's time to admit that Apple offers awesome services for its users. It's true that apple's too much secret, but they already invented a lot of things that they were the first people to offer, and I guess that's worth the money they ask us for.

#1827257 Software Piracy

Posted by TheNavigator on 17 June 2012 - 08:33 AM

I know that. I'm a developer too. I've worked for years on projects, but 1000$ for a single license for photoshop is taking it to a bad way (i don't remember what was "is taking it to" thing actually). I've seen people who a very bit lower than adobe, worked for 4 years on a single project, and they're still working on it, and it's just for 1$! While Adobe products are much more widely used by the way. I hate the how they look to be just running after money, not clients' confidence.

#1826382 Will this Z77 install work

Posted by TheNavigator on 13 June 2012 - 11:54 AM

I do not recommend installing iAtkos. You can check my topic. http://www.insanelym...howtopic=276288 I've spent 4 months trying to get it work, while when I followed the repliers' advise to install a real one, I just got it working To start you'll have to install Snow Leopard or you'll get into much trouble. It's recommended to install VMWare on Windows to restore the Snow Leopard thing, or just use an iAtkos, but still you'll have to use Snow Leopard to specify the required kexts and so that will work on Lion as Lion is really bad about working with stuff that it doesn't support.

#1819940 Software Piracy

Posted by TheNavigator on 12 May 2012 - 05:01 AM

I have yet to meet an individual who has actually purchased Adobe Photoshop. Why is that? Today's Great Debate focuses on the question of software piracy in all its various forms. Is it wrong? Is it analogous to stealing physical goods? Many people claim that piracy is acceptable and, in some cases, ethical. I know of one Mac developer who has frequently been accused of stealing from open source projects. Is it ethical to steal from an (alleged) thief? What about Microsoft? Why is it that so few people buy copies of Windows? Is it a problem with the user or the product? Others claim that software piracy is just like any other forms of stealing - it's theft. Those who shoplift are the same as those who take from the latest Serial Box. Is stealing 1's and 0's the same as stealing a physical product? How does piracy affect developers? Some don't even think about it any more. For them, piracy is the only way to get software. What say you? I'm an Egyptian. T...

#1819831 Ubuntu overtaken by Linux Mint

Posted by TheNavigator on 11 May 2012 - 05:54 PM

I used to use Ubuntu for much long, and I liked it actually, Much lighter than windows. Until I went much further into other OSs, I figured out that Ubuntu's just nothing. It's extremely buggy (if compared to other OSs), and it's not easy to deal with. You must have a BIG experience at using their Terminal. Check out the tutorial for installing i8kfan for example, and installing the same software for Windows... I'll check Linux Mint, I won't install it though. I've had enough of Linux. Their servers are the most perfect ones, but their user side is horrible.

#1819053 How Do You Do This?

Posted by TheNavigator on 09 May 2012 - 09:06 AM

Try to search for showing hidden and system files. That worked for me. (I searched for it instead) Write that in terminal: defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE Then: killall Finder And it will work :)
