Exactly what should I do with the BIOS? I don't really have much exp. with that... 
And there's NO "Still waiting for root device" message... I left it on for 15 mins and nothing changed. I'm pretty busy now - when I have time I'll send you a screenshot of what happens when it actually loads.

Ok... I installed the 9.8 kernel using the instructions in your link. I used (uname -a) in the command line and it said that I was using kernel 9.8.
On the good side, I can open DMGs without crashing! However, my PC froze AGAIN when starting... at the same lines. screenshot:
