Hello all,
I've registered out of desperation on the olarila forum, but I just can't read Portugese. Could somebody translate the topic for me? The link: http://olarila.com/f...c.php?f=2&t=716
It has been posted by arthur-pt, I've also seen him on this forum, perhaps he knows more about it?
What I'm trying to do is to get my MSI HD6950 Twin Frozr II 2GB to work with Mountain Lion (QE/CI and full native 1080p res). Now I read that topic (translated it with google translate), but I don't understand a thing of it. I know how to edit kexts, but just can't make anything out of this translated stuff.
The issue: I get a white, blank screen when booting (without cursor). I installed it by removing the ATI6000Controller.kext from the USB drive. If I boot normally I cannot put my PC to sleep (power button doesn't react). When I'm booting in safe mode I also get the white screen (with a cursor), but I can put my PC to sleep with the power button. I then wake the PC and I have full resolution, but without QE/CI. Is there also a DSDT needed to get this card working?
The code name for this card is Cayman Pro, according to Wikipedia. Is this correct?: http://en.wikipedia...._6xxx.29_series
If you need more info, don't hesitate to ask. My PC specs can be found in my sig (the green desktop).
So, how do I get this card working?? I read A LOT of topics, but none helped me get this working.

Marvell Yukon 88E8059 Gigabit LAN almost working, need help with further technical
02 November 2012 - 10:13 PM
So, I took a legacy kext of the net from a 88E8056 and edited it for my 88E8059, just to try whether it works or not.
Well, I must say that I did got some results. I've got OS X to see my card, for the first time!
The only thing is that when OS X sees the LAN card it says that the cable is not connected or the device on the other side is not responding. But I did connected a cable to my working gbit switch.
Here is my legacy kext info.plist code:
Now that I'm this far I really would like to get it working. I added the IOSecondaryMatch in the kext with my, in Windows given, subsystem ID. Is this correct? I also edited the IOPrimaryMatch to reflect my device and vendor ID.
Is there anything else I can try to get this working?

after kext installation getting timeout when rebuilding caches. Desperately need of help.
31 October 2012 - 09:21 PM
Hello,
So, I got ML successfully working on an Intel i5 laptop (check signature for more specs) and it has been working very well for a long time. Now I came across a kext which might enable my Marvell Yukon 88E8059 Ethernet (wired) card, but now I installed the kext and ran kext utility. Repairing disk permissions goes all well, but when it comes to rebuilding the system cache it says: Timeout: 60secs! - Don't worry, nothing fatal!
However, now I boot and my WiFi etc. is gone. It also takes a veeerrry long time before my USB ports are recognized. I am booting with -f which sometimes works and sometimes not (and -v for debugging). I also installed a 3rd party PS2 kext to get keyboard / touchpad internal working, but it takes a long time before I can type in my password at logon screen.
Can anybody help me rebuild my cache without a timeout?
edit: I tried rebuilding my cache also in safe mode, but to no success. How in EARTH do I get this working again? Searched all over Google, more than 20 pages looked for info and clicked over 60 links, but no info about this specific subject found, nor a solution.
I really appreciate any help.
Cheers,
P.S. Happy Halloween everybody! Though I live in Holland I like to do some Halloween stuff (they don't do that much in Holland, at least not in our area)

Samsung R580 i5 430M, GT330M graphics bit laggy
30 September 2012 - 07:04 PM
So, I installed ML relatively easy on my lappy, but now I have still 4 (more common) problems and I'd like you to help me if you've got the time to do so, any help is appreciated!
So, the problems:
1. Speedstep / Turbo Boost: How to check this?
2. Graphics have QE/CI but are bit laggy when NOT using NullCPUPowerManagement kext.
3. Using Voodoo PS/2, whenever I use my keypad I need to press the FN key for any numeric key except number 5 on the keypad.
4. No sleep, goes in sleep (power button flashes slowly) and then after few secs wakes on it's own and goes in some kind of coma, need to press power button to put lappy off power and back on (I'd really like to get this working, so if anybody got a possible solution I'd say: Fire away!).
Geekbench score: 4379.
Using custom DSDT and using DropSSDT in conjunction with GeneratePStates and GenerateCStates. Intel reports max. turbo frequency is 2.53Ghz, but if I launch GeekBench I get to 2376Mhz (measured with SMC Monitor from InsanelyMac and HWMonitor app) with a busratio of 18 max.
Curious: I read that when using NullCPUPowerManagement kext you don't have speedstepping, well I use NullCPUPowerManagement kext atm and do have frequency changes (1714, 1574 etc etc). Is this strange or normal? And when booting without NullCPUPowerManagement kext I see AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement: Turbo Ratios 0022. What does this mean?
Hope somebody can help and or shed a light on this

AnV's Kernel 10.6.8v2 crashes randomly
13 July 2012 - 05:48 PM
Hi all,
First the system specs:
- GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3 (rev. 1.2).
- ATi Radeon HD4850 (Got QE/CI natively).
- AHCI mode is set in BIOS with EFI (hybrid?) capabilities.
I have this (little) issue with AnV's kernel (I heard it's newer than Nawcom's and if I'm correct I heard that even Nawcom recommended this kernel, do correct me if I'm wrong).
I get random kernel panics with this kernel and would like to switch back to Nawcom's but then I get the PCI Configuration Begin issue, so for now that's a no go.
I have in my chameleon.boot.plist these boot args:
-arch=i386 -force64 npci=0x2000
So, I'm booting in 64-bit userland the same way as Nawcom's kernel.
Could somebody help me out with this issue? And maybe a guide to switch back to Nawcom's Kernel?
I did patched my dylib binaries, don't know if that's gotta do something with it?
Hoping for an answer
