Hi all, I have 10.8.2 installed and all is well and good apart from the sound!

ran multi beast and tried the 1st (oldest) voodoo kext and OSX thinks I have sound but nothings coming out the speakers, the newer ones think I dont have any sound and the newset one gives me lots of noise like an out of tune radio.


I read on another forum that the appleHDA kexts wont work with my MB and when I tried one a while ago it OSX wouldnt boot....


any ideas?

Installed ML on my hackingtosh tonight, although the installer failed it still boots and works, and the same with the combo update, so im running 10.8.2 now


I am trying to sort my graphics card out, and ATI radion 5450, Ive installed ati5000injector, along with all the other ati kexts and I can only view it 1900x700 which is wrong for my monitor, I also get quite a lot of lines across the screen.

I cant boot with graphic senabler= yes as I get stuck on 'iobluetoothhcicontroller start completed' and I believe the next line is to do with the graphics so its hanging there.


the 5450 has been reported to work with 10.8 with the ati5000injector and GE=yes and it worked with me on 10.7



I also have no sound kexts loaded yet, everytime I run mult i beast and instal either the voodoo kext or the RLT8xxx kext it wont boot, not even in safe mode, I have a gigabyte GA-H61MA-D2V any links to kexts for that?

Hi all, building my 3rd hackintosh

come across one or two problems though...

When I try and boot OSX the kexts load in -v mode and then the system restarts

Ive just added in -F and ive ow got a still waiting for root device- which I will do a search on now, its litrally just happend as im typing this!

I added in the ati5000 kext into the installer and think this is why its now loaded and not restarted?

it reboots using chimera on the USB stick, but boots with chamelion which is on my HDD but gives me still waiting for root device

After hackintoshing my asus 1201n I decided to do the same to my PC, got it running iAktos running 10.6.8 for around a year, now it decided to die on me.... so got myself a new HDD and installing lion, well that was the plan.....


I followed Tonymac's guide

and have a bootable USB, everything ok so far.....


until I get


boot up in -v mode and I get a bootcachecontrol:unable to open /vardb/bootcache.playlist: 2 no such directory
bug: launchctl.c:2408


tried it with the USB I used for my asus, and also iaktos SL and Lion disks

tried loads of bootflags too... GE=No, -v -x -f


Im running a Foxconn MB
intel core 2 duo
ati 5450 gfx card
4gb ram


Ive read it could very well be the fact im using an AVG monitor? or my gfx card....

any ideas?
