About Me

Hello! My name is Scott Lahteine (pronounced "la-teen"), and I'm an American artist / musician currently residing in Northampton, Massachusetts, USA. Primarily I work as a freelance computer programmer (Mac, iPhone) and web designer (Drupal).

I'm on the InsanelyMac forums because I wrote an open source driver called TabletMagic to support old serial Wacom tablets for Mac OS X, and it also contains support for many of the digitizers built into TabletPC computers.

In addition to TabletMagic, I also wrote a guitar-based music sequencer called FretPet for Mac OS X. Originally conceived as a tool to allow me to look up guitar chords by tone, by name, or by fingering, and to see how different chords relate to one another, the program quickly grew into a full-fledged multi-voice sequencer and music composer.

Before I became a programmer of Mac, iPhone, and PHP. I wrote games for Amiga computers. In particular, Dino Wars and Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure. I also composed the music in the games Byteman and Space Wars. Before I wrote Amiga games I programmed Atari computers for fun. Before computers I was a student of writing, illustration, and science.

In October of 2009 I completed and submitted my first iPhone / iPod Touch application to the App Store. My current ambition is to focus on that platform, make some great things and, with some luck, gain the independence to play with my own ideas for a living.
