Install OS X 10.6.7 or Lion on HP DV7t Quad Sandy Bridge HM65

03 September 2011 - 08:47 PM

I have a HP DV7t Quad LM726AV (customized DV7-6195us) which I bought from HP. I have previously installed OS X 10.6.7 successfully on my HP DV8t-1000 using Mammoth's method. I have tried installing OS X 10.6.8 on the DV7t using #####-Legacy 2.7.2, Bridge Helper and ##### 3.8 with no success. I installed SL 10.6.3 with #####-Legacy. Can't boot from the HDD, but can from the #####-Legacy disk. The only problem is that most of the devices are not being recognized. The ATI 6770 is not recognized. The touchpad and ethernet are also not recognized. USB works on right side, but not left. When I update to 10.6.7 I lose USB altogether. I've tried different kexts with ##### to no avail. I was hoping you could set me in the right direction. Should I just go straight to Lion or do I have to have 10.6.7 or 10.6.8 installed first (I'm still on 10.6.3). I'm pretty sure the ATI 6770 is causing most of my problems. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

HDMI to 2nd Monitor not working completely on HP DV8t-1000

24 June 2011 - 08:09 PM

I have a HP DV8t-1000 with the nVidia gt 230m graphics card. It works fine on my laptop, but when I connect my HDMI cable to my HP2048 monitor, all I see is the Mac default background, no icons or desktop. The background on my laptop is the Snow Leopard. When I check the graphics card in the system profiler it shows that the driver for the GT230m is not installed. I used Mammoth's installation guides to get Mac OS X 10.6.7 running to this point. I tried some different settings in System Preferences > Displays to no avail. Anyone else have this problems after initial setup? Thanks.

Panic: Unable to find driver for this platform \ACPI\

07 June 2011 - 10:26 PM

When I boot from my new MIID (external USB drive) I get this error message. "unable to find driver for this platform: \"acpi\".\n "@users/taptun/desktop/kernel........"

I have a HP Pavillion DV8t-1000 and use Mammoth's MIIF. Do I have to use another DSDT? Any help would be appreciated.

Problem with Step 18 - Creating the MIID from a Partition on USB device

07 June 2011 - 04:36 PM

I have a HP Pavillion DV8t-1000, I7, 4GB Ram that is pretty much loaded. I've gone through the guide #2 so far with no problems. When I get to step 18 of Creating the MIID, when in terminal, I type each of the 3 command lines and then hit enter after each one, I get the error message "no such file or directory" after each line. Any ideas why the file or directory is not being recognized. Which MIIF should I be using? Generic or the one that Mammoth used for his DV8t? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
