In Topic: [Guide] Getting XFX HD6850 connectors to work

28 March 2013 - 02:04 PM

10.8.3 has made a pretty big dent in my extra days off from a vacation — anyone else having some problems with edits to the kexts? My 10.8.2 bundle didn't work as expected on 10.8.3, and doing edits to the 10.8.3 bundle(s) have resulted in some odd hotplug/port behavior.

I'm presently limping along with using DVI-D and DVI-S but DVI-S won't become active unless I plug in an HDMI cable, so I think I know where the problem is but my combinations of trans/plug/port haven't come up with a magic combo yet.

eep357 (or any other Clover user),

While I'm planning my Sunday bootloader project, in your experience is it necessary to de-authorize a computer in iTunes before switching over?  Will any of the iCloud/iTunes authorizations need to be re-done if I keep the same values I'm using in Chameleon (more or less, I realize the iMessage fix requires an added value) or have you seen this be a sufficient change to require another authorization with Apple?

My shuffling with onboard versus PCI ethernet cards last summer left me in a funky state where I have 4 computers and 5 used authorizations and I need to wait a bit still before I can reset them all!

I've been doing a DSDT-less boot with UEFI on my Gigabyte z68x-ud3h-b3 via Chameleon and I'm still timid about Clover for that reason.  I appreciate the guide and the information, I never thought I'd be learning a new bootloader, but then again I thought the same thing when I learned LILO.

I have values for oycqAZloTNDm and abKPld1EcMni that persist across reboots on my MacMini5,3 and MacBookPro10,1, I just don't know the sanest way to share them.  Any suggestions?  I'm inclined to just leaving them unattributed without the key values as a gist.  It looks like the thread on uggc://jjj.gbalznpk86.pbz/ is looking at it from the other end, rather than attempting to reverse the format they're thinking of just finding what happens when it is set?

This may also provide some clues as to why they have implemented it this way.

It seems likely that these are uniquely identifying but I don't know how easily they can be reversed or if they are a one-way ticket.

Are people going to be willing to share them?

or better yet, are they maybe not even validated?  (i.e. could they be anything that matches the format?)
