I don't know your system details but here is what work for me (after testing a lot of kext).
I use ML on a P5E-VM HDMI (this motherboard have a ALC883 sound):

BUT you need to add (patch) some lines to your DSDT... (and I don't know if you have one dsdt.aml on your system...)
