#2572571 AptioMemoryFix

Posted by Ramalama on Yesterday, 12:26 PM

Hi, can anyone explain, or better write in the github readme, what is the difference between aptiofix3 and aptiomemoryfix? I dont get it, because both are working with aptio 5... Aptio1 and aptio2 is clear to me, that are the old ones... But aptio3 and aptiomemoryfix is unclear... And please dont write its a different aproach, because that explains nothing... And one another thing, we have in bios that 4g option, but i dont understand what that option does... But that is not that important to me... I just want to know about aptiomemoryfix... Thanks and cheers:-)

Guys, I have 2 Systems to Compare...: 1. System:i7-6700 on H170 (Aptio 4 + ModBios (SMI/CSM etc disabled))Intel 600p NVME (With APFS+Trim)Boot Time: Really Fast 2. System:i9-7900x on X299 (R6E, Aptio 5 + BiosMod not possible, no tools available)960 Pro NVME (With APFS+Trim)Boot Time: Fu..ing Slow  I made a preboot.log of both, on the x299 there is an entry (that takes up all the time...)4:511  0:365  GUI ready44:568  40:056  Found BIOS RSDP at F0010But I don't get any information, what exactly takes that long... I don't believe that have something todo with ACPI Tables... On the fast loading System (1), I have:1:911  0:112  GUI ready17:172  15:261  BootVariable of the entry is empty So that makes Clear, that something doesn't get logged after "GUI ready" Ive Attached the whole preboot logs of Both Systems...  EDIT:........IM SO STUPID...Ive answered my question myself, after I readed my post to corr...

Your NVRAM breaks because it is being locked by your firmware, this is normal for almost all firmware but you should not have that problem with AptioFix2. Also, you are way off on what the AptioFixes do, with out it you wouldn't even be able to boot. AptioFixes add things Apple firmware expects that UEFI doesn't do, changes ACPI memory page types so they are not moved, and then patches the kernel to properly start and fix the device tree. AptioFix creates a relocation region, loads the kernel there, then moves it to the spot it requested. AptioFix2 tries to give it the region the kernel wants to begin. EDIT: Also maybe try to solve the problem yourself instead of acting like other people should do it for you. I do this because I like to, not because you feel entitled for others working for you without putting in any effort of your own. There are developers who have been doing this for a decade, I myself have for like six or seven years. Do some research, learn, figure the probl...

CloverUpdater was not changed since 4000 when it changes 2.3 -> 2.4.Did you check any other 4xxx revision? Change AptioFix <-> AptioFix2 or vice versa. Remove "-v" from boot-args. Remove nvram.plist from EFI partition and from Mac root partition.Slice, Aptiofix or Aptopfix2 doesnt matter, nvram doesnt work... i can write something into nvram (with terminal and sudo nvram....) but on next boot its gone...Thats the Problem, why im asking... Seems for me, like Aptio maps the wrong Memory region... Cheers

@Slice Thank you for the prevous Answer (with the cpuid inject thing), that solved my problem :-) I have another one...I want to get aptiofix working... I just forgot, how to debug it...Last time ive dumped the memory mappings was ~4 years ago... Maybe you can Point my Nose to the right direction :-) I dont want to waste your time. Cheers :-) EDIT:Just the Specs (In case if its already fixed in a future clover version)Asus X299 R6E + 7900x + 64GB Ram Cheers :-)

@sliceDo Clover injects default a FakeCPUID for Skylake-X ? Because its strange. If i remove FakeCPUID from Clover Config, im still able to boot...If i use my Original CPUID as FakeCPUID, i cant boot (0x050654)... So thats why i think, that Clover injects a FakeCPUID, if i doesnt specify one in the Config... Cheers :-)

I can do this,Letsencrypt autogeneration with dehydrated + nginx update to 1.12 + ssl with http2(you are still using nginx 1.6.2 lol) But i wouldn't update the Forum, there are maybe Design incompatibilitys... or the Blog Page... or any other Plugins that are not compatible... So you can have me as a free Server admin, but i will never do any moderator stuff... Not enough time for this... Im working as a System Administrator in a big Company...PM me if there is a need... Cheers :-)

you can try OsxAptioFixDrv-64 without the "2", can be that you need a bios hack... you can delete both scripts, one is for mount efi partition so you dont need to delete it, but there are tools for this like quickesp :-) do this:sudo rm -rf /Library/Application\ Support/Cloversudo rm /Library/PreferencePanes/Clover.prefPane and the scripts above you already mentioned :-) can you boot into windows and dump your bios with AfuWinX64 you can download it direct from ami... you should have aptio4, you will see what i mean if you download the package :-) And dump me your actual ioreg+acpitable dump + clover folder :-) Cheers :-)

EmuVariableUEFI-64 corresponds with OsxAptioFix2Drv-64.efion your tablet OsxAptioFix2Drv-64.efi should work very well with nvram. (this one will you real nvram, not emulated like EmuVariableUEFI-64) PartitonDxe-64 you don't need at all, dual boot should work without problems without it, im using dual boot too... ‚Äčim sry for not responding that much, im really working very much so I have not as much time as I normally have :-)So this can take some time to fix that things with me :-) But on my laptop even hibernate works. ‚Äčif I have time next days, I will make you a dsdt and clover config, but not right now, sry :-( Cheers :-)

ive fixed here both bugs, asus provided a bios update:http://www.asus.com/...d/3/574/0/1/41/look at bios 209:"Fix system hangs on black screen after resuming from S3." And about the ssds, i dont know if toshiba have this bug... ive thinked only sandisk have that bug, so im sry... i cant say about toshiba :-( I will check your ioreg tomorrow, maybe i will see something... nothing is not fixeable, you have almost same hardware in your tablet as me in my laptop xDand here for me everything works absolutely amazing...(just have a safari flash freeze bug on some sites xD) ive looked into your ioreg, there are some things you need to fix 1. D00C, rename it to SBUS and use a patch which inserts BUS0->DVL02. remove VoodoHDA completely, you need a proper applehda3. rename XHC to XHC1 + you need a proper selfmade kextinject (we can make one tomorrow or so)4. change inside fakesmc kext "smc-napa" to "smc-huronriver"5. WTF! you need inside Clover (drivers64uefi...

Its not a bug of your dsdt, i have an Asus UX301LA, had same at beginnings... you have 2 different bugs, 20-30secounds delay after sleep and the black display... 1. 20sec delay: exchange your sandisk M2 SSD, to something else, the sandisk SSD have a power management bug... (in windows its working, in OS X you have a delay)any other SSD doesn't have that bug. 2. About the display bug, its actually a bios bug, check if your vendor have a bios update, had same here too Cheers
