I'm not sure if you found this already but....I have a 1005HAB running Snow leopard as well. As I have been unable to get the trackpad lock button to work, I found this great little program called "Sausage Fingers" it puts a trackpad click disable icon on your menu bar that you can hit on and off for such issues. ....not as good as the button but it work great!
