Thanks for such a quick response! I re-created the OS X installer usb and booted into clover. I tried adding it as a boot entry, -I think... I'm not entirely sure I did the right thing... what do I do the the clover.plist once I'm into OS X Thanks in advance! open Clover configurator find youre the path of the efi loader from windows, it should be someting simulair to /EFI/windows/ if you want i can teamview in youre osx to take a look cause this is a long time ago for me. Also check the wiki of clover.plist

Great guide by the way, just about got this all working on my Dell l702x... Main issue I have had that has caused me to start over a few times is making any changes whatsoever to the partitions once you have everything installed and working seems to really screw things up... anyway on my third try now and looking good! So I'd really like to do a backup...i see you mention macrium reflect just wondering if you could give a bit more info on that process... I want to create an image of the whole disk first of all and then create a clone disk I can swap out which will hopefully just boot... Is the free version OK for this and can I do it from Windows or do I need to do it from the Macrium recovery disk... In which case should I make the Windows PE disk or the Linux one? Sorry if these are basic questions just this has taken me days to get right and I really want to make sure I make a backup that will actually work! ;)Hi, free version is ok, boot from usb is better not in windows,...

Yes, you proberly didnt format the disk to gpt, best way to convert it the right way is to use the windows installer disk, hit SHIFT + F12, be aware with this method it clean the hole hdd so you need to install everything againtype diskpartlist diskselect disk 0 (or own disk number)clean then use disk utility provided in the osx installer, follow the guide, good luck i will add this to the the preperations post thanks

Image and Recovery I would defintly recommand you to create a full disk image, by this, if anything goes wrong you can put that image back and have the system working in 15/30 minutes again. I tested a few image software packages, and i found out that Macrium Reflect is the way to go.  You can use the free version, create a usb/dvd from within the program and if it ask for linux or windows PE, use Windows PE.Startup youre computer from the USB you just created, you do not need to edit any settings. Just image and youre good to go. It supports gpt, i created a image, wiped the hdd, and succesfully putted the image back and it didnt messed up the boot codes and partition styles. etcGreat news, its free! It supports network. I tried Acronis True Image and Backup and Restore, but it failed cause it store the unallocated space to the beginning of the partition. If you know any good free one feel free to post it, but only when you tested it youself and verified it wor...

Installing Windows 8.1 UEFI Mode Boot the Windows 8 usb installerOnce in the setup it's almost straight forward:1. Select unallocated space2. Click "New", and choose partition size for windows (keep in mind you need to keep 5Gb for manual Recovery partition, and more for all extra operating systems you wanne install. You will see that windows need to add extra partitions, click "OK" to continue. 4. Again, click unallocated space and create a Recovery partition (5GB). (Only if windows didn't create it automaticly, otherwise skip this step) (i never used it, cause i image my notebook)5. Now select youre first Primary partition after the MSR (Reserved) and click "Next" to install windows. Be aware! READ this post till the end before continuing. The computer can start Windows automaticly without giving you an option to boot OS X from Clover. Read the next post to fix this. Finish the recovery partition and make it active (Only if windows didn't created it automaticly) again, i...
