blackborder around desktop on mbp?

So today I noticed a black border around my entire desktop that I have never noticed before this is a year old mbp. So i looked at my refresh rate and it does not allow me to change and says n/a s this abnormal. Again I have never noticed it and looks odd to me. Screen shot attached. Any ideas?

I am looking to maybe sell my mbp santa rosa low end model :MacBook Pro 2.2Ghz - 128MB GeForce 8600M GT - 2GB DDR2 677Mhz - 120GB HD - 5400rpm, w/everything perfect condition. I was wanting to sell it on ebay because I've seen some crazy high mark ups on macs. Any clue to how much it would go for on there? I would research it but I currently use someones unstable wifi connection within the building.

Is there any programs out there or something im missing that will allow me to span the desktop on 2 monitors it can do it in windows. If I am not clear what i mean is say half the dock is on one monitor and other half extends to the second along with menu bar ect.
MBP AC Power without charging Battery?

Just curious if there is a way to configure the battery to not be used while plugged into AC power. I doubt it but i hate having it pulled out and or having it charged at 100% as that can not be good for it. or maybe an app that allows to stop charging at a certain interval? This is not only my first mac but my first laptop as well so I am concerned on how to get the most life out of it.

I have decided that if indeed this works I will purchase an MB. I have read others regarding this question but no direct answer to whether this produces a matte like screen removing the glossy look. Has anyone on this forum purchased and tried this out? Positive or Negative feedback on this welcome.
