Hello
I installed Kalyway 10.5.2 on ASUS K8N Motherboard AMD Athlon 64bit (with SSE2) ATI Radeon 9600 CPU and I applied forcedeth_0.2c_leopard.zip for the Ethernet and Radeon9600.zip for the Graphics, everything works perfectly except the USB connections.
Only the USB mouse keyboard are working and whatever else I connect to USB, it never works.
In my S/L/E folder AppleHPET.kext was deactivated (it was renamed as *_backup) I acitvated it by renaming it as AppleHPET.kext, this has no effect on the USB connectivity problem.
How can I make USB work? Thanks.

USB ports do not work

No USB external harddisk is detected

Hello
I've just installed Kalyway 10.5.2 on ASUS K8N Motherboard & AMD Athlon 64bit (with SSE2) CPU & ATI Radeon 9600 CPU and after applying forcedeth_0.2c_leopard.zip for the Ethernet controller and Radeon9600.zip for the Graphics, and removing AppleNForceATA to prevent the Kernel Panic caused by com.nvidia.driver.AppleNForceATA, everything works perfectly except just one thing:
Whatever I connect to USB, it's not detected. For instance if I connect a USB DVD Writer or a USB external SATA harddisk, they are never detected. The USB harddisks do not appear even on Disk Utility. If I connect a SATA disk directly to motherboard's SATA connection, it's still not detected.
The only devices working on USB are the mouse and the keyboard (of course) and the only working harddisk is the boot disk (of course, again) connected on MoBo SATA.
When I searched the forum, I came across a similar topic and it said to activate AppleHPET.kext. In my S/L/E folder AppleHPET.kext was deactivated (it was renamed as *_backup) I acitvated it by renaming it as AppleHPET.kext and let the cache rebuils by deleting /SL/Extensions.mkext. This has no effect on the USB connectivity problem.
So I need your help, how can I make USB work? Thanks.

Started to get AppleOnBoardPCATA & AppleNForceATA Kernel Panics
22 March 2013 - 10:42 PM
Hello
I've just installed Kalyway 10.5.2 on ASUS K8N Motherboard & AMD Athlon 64bit (w. SSE2)CPU & ATI Radeon 9600 CPU and it worked.
Later I installed an additional kext for the Ethernet controller, called forcedeth_0.2c_leopard.zip (because the Ethernet was absent) then I got the first Kernel Panic while booting. I cured it by booting from Kalyway DVD and running in Terminal "# kextcache -k ./System/Library/Extensions"
Then I installed another additional kext for the Graphics, called Radeon9600.zip (because the max resolution was 1024*768) I got the second Kernel Panic while booting. I tried to cure it by booting from Kalyway DVD and running in Terminal "# kextcache -k ./System/Library/Extensions" but it didn't work. I got stuck at the boot. Here are the screenshots of Kernel Panics:

How can I get through this Kernel Panic, by keeping the Ethernet and full resolution Graphics,of course?

How can I select Kernel on Kalyway 10.5.2 and inject & rebuild kexts?
01 March 2013 - 04:26 PM
Hello
I'm trying to install Kalyway 10.5.2 on my Asus Motherboard & AMD64 2GHz (2 core) processor & ATI Radeon 9600 Pro computer and I have several issues:
1- During installation from Kalyway DVD, in Customize menu, there are multiple Kernels and all of them are selectable:
sleepkernel (intel/amd/sse2/sse3)
speedstepkernel (intel/amd/sse2/sse3)
nforcekernel (intel/sse3)
modbinkernel (intel/amd/sse3)
vanillakernel (intel/sse3)
kabylkernel (intel/sse3) with sleep support
I was wondering how I will know which Kernel is the most suitable for my computer. And what's the point of selecting more than one kernel during installation, and if I ever selected several kernels during installation, how will I be able to select the kernel I want during startup after the installation. I actually made one installation by selecting those 2 kernels: sleepkernel and vanillakernel but I 'm unable to select any of them during startup. Pressing cmd+S doesn't give me the opportunity to do that.
2- During startup I guess the ATI Radeon 9600 Pro causes error and it hangs in a line which says: AGPGart ... I guess the Radeon 9600 Pro is incompatible with the stock DVD. I wonder how to solve this problem. I tried injecting new AGPGart kext externally by using Terminal and 'kextcache' command, because the computer couldn't boot into the Leopard desktop and ##### on my other Mac works only for the Kexts on the Desktop. Is there a practical way to make Radeon 9600 Pro work, any tutorial or links on this problem are appreciated.
3- Vanillakernel is said to be the original kernel of Mac OS, so is it the same as /mach_kernel ?

Injecting kext into S. Leopard Install Disk
14 November 2012 - 07:31 PM
When I try to install S. Leopard on my computer, it gets stuck at this step:

After last line it gives:
still waiting for foot device
still waiting for foot device
....
It looks like my computer 's Ethernet adapter is incompatible with S. Leopard. Or is it something else?
Anyway, I searched for alternative kext files for my Ethernet and I found several ones as IONetworkingFamily.kext
But here's the problem: How will I put those new , alternative kexts into the Install Disk?
Alright, I use a USB Harddisk as the Install Disk so I can get away putting kext into /System/Library/Extensions/ without burning any DVD.
But then I think I should do "rebuid cache" of kext??? I remember rebuilding cache on my Lenovo Laptop with Mac OS X on it, using a utility called Kext Be**t or something like that. But here, the Mac OS X is not installed on harddisk, it's the install phase. So I wonder how I can perform "rebuild cache" if it's necessary or possible at all.
any help is appreciated, thanks.
