In Topic: Proper mouse tracking under OSX is live!

18 May 2013 - 08:19 AM

I had noticed this issue since Leopard, mouse cursor movement visually felt a bit jerky.
I then bought a magic mouse, and the feel was immediately gone and cursor smoothness was back to what it was with any mouse in Tiger.
So just be aware that magic mouse (and probably others Apple mice) tracking is smooth without any "patching" and that it's probably some "accidentally intentional" limitation by Apple" so mice of other brands feel sh*tty.

I use clover (in UEFI mode), that works nicely.
However sleep isn't as stable as it was with XPC. It hangs regularly in sleep.

Anyway, that sound issue is giving me hard times. I checked DSDT and kexts everything looks right, the device is listed with all the pin configuration in system profiler, however still no input/output appearing in sound prefs.
Any advice is welcome.

I lost sound with 10.8.3, somebody else got this ?
I didn't check yet, there must be something new to add to DSDT or maybe it requires PCI ID patching in kext ?

I kind of want to focus on getting native resolution for OS X first. Some users are able to get native resolution because their VBIOS has the resolution listed in VESA. Other computers don't and this is what I want to focus on. For example, a laptop that I have can use a resolution up to 1366x768, but this is not listed in the VESA table. I don't want to focus on getting Quartz Extreme or Core Image right now.

What's the point of doing this if you can have it working fully with the appropriate driver (with older OSX though) ?

Hehe believe it or not but I have an old Celeron D with 512Mb and an old-and-not-even-fast-HD that boots Tiger in about the same time (a tiny bit longer tho, I see the Apple about 5s).
