Acer Aspire 5750-6834

07 December 2012 - 04:28 PM

When I first got this laptop, I managed to get Mac partially working on it - in fact, I still remember how to do it. However, a few things that I couldn't get to work made me revert back to Windows/Linux. I am interested in giving this another try over the winter break.

So, I have everything working except for the below. All kexts are vanilla, except for the NullCPUPower

- Touchpad (ETPS/2 Elantech Touchpad) and Keyboard (I could only get either the keyboard working, or nothing at all)
- Audio (ALC269VB)
- Sleep
- Battery Life

Any ideas on the above?

Suggestions for ATI Card, running smooth at 1080p

12 November 2012 - 11:30 PM

Does anyone know of a ATI graphics card that is supported natively, and can output 1080p without lagging?

I am using the Nvidia EN210 right now, and performance is horrible at times.

I probably want something within the range of $40-$70 CAD

Asus P5K-E - Cannot Sleep

20 October 2012 - 04:21 PM

I currently have a vanilla Lion 10.7 installed.

What Ive done to get it running
1. Bought Lion from App Store
2. Got it on a flash drive.
3. Installed on second HDD (removed others, this is now the only HDD)
4. Used USB to boot to second HDD (removed others, this is now the only HDD)
5. Installed kexts and chameleon to allow it to boot.
6. Full screen/QE/CI Achieved

The computer was just reset, so the BIOS is in the default configuration. It is the newest version currently.

Hardware that has been added:
ASUS EN210 Silent 1GB

What I can't get working:
- DSDT (ends up getting stuck at FSCK, removing it causes it to be still stuck in the same place, even if I move nullcpupowermanagement back)
- Sleep (does not work with sleepenabler)
- Sound (AD1988B)

Any ideas on this?
