About Me

If your interested - since there is an "about me" section, I thought I should put something. Not out of any form of narcissism - LOL - just because if you came here you are probably trying to learn a little about me.

I have been on the scene for some time - Initially an "in the closet" geek through school (since computers were NOT cool back then) I started out back in the days of the TRS-80 and commodore systems.

Enlisted in the military shortly after high school and after my tenure (Did my 4 and honorably discharged due to a severe injury) I attended a quasi "Ivy League" educational institution and earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering. During my time at college I had the opportunity to capitalize on the "dot com" boom and worked with Apple, Lucent, GE and Microsoft to name a few.

Shortly thereafter I had an opportunity to yet again serve my country but in a different capacity and I currently "chair" a side business that provides High-End Apple clones (currently seeking approval from Apple - tough nut to crack I might add). We do NOT build cheap knock-off machines; ours are truly a Mac in my humble opinion; the only difference is that Apple doesn't manufacture it. We are even working with AMI, Award, Asus and Gigabyte to have a custom EFI based BIOS replacement and TPM (the two things that truly make a Mac a Mac) based on our specs for certain boards - As long as there are no NDA's (there probably will be), the EFI BIOS replacements will be released to the public so long as they are not used to pirate Apple's OS!

I contribute here when I have the time - as you can see, I have been a member since 2006. Everything I do or work on is open source and available to the public including the designs for the machines we manufacture. It will ALWAYS be that way (I hope)...

Additionally, I have a lot of hobbies from music to welding and am a tool junkie. I have even designed and built several CNC routers and lathes that are accurate up to 50,000th of an inch!

Last but not least, I have a wonderful family a great children who are (I have to brag a little) brilliant and beautiful/handsome!

Well, enough about me - I am just happy to be a part of such a great community. Of all the forums on the net this has to be one of the best. Its users are friendly, courteous and helpful and I am proud to be a part of it all.

Regards,

Ryan
