I think that your Chimera is loading additional drivers from /Extra/Extensions which Clover does not use. My advice is to use KextWizard and install those kexts to /S/L/E to your Mountain Lion. And then check booting with Clover. About UEFI or BIOS boot: boot to Clover GUI, and when you get the main menu with volumes press F2 - this will save file preboot.log into Clover USB /EFI/misc/ folder.
