#1830008 What is a Distro?

Posted fallen101 on 28 June 2012 - 07:58 PM

What is a distro? A distro (abbreviation for distribution) is a copy* of MacOS X that has been conveniently modified to ease the installation process on non-Apple machines, i.e., it comes with a mechanism capable of booting the installation DVD on generic PCs (bootloader) and additional drivers (kexts) pre-configured to enlarge the number of hardware components correctly recognized by Mac OS X. 1. When you applied the thermal compound did you clean off 100% of the hold compound from the heat sync and the processer? 2. I believe you should put the old heat sync fan on and test what your idling at replacing a fan isnt that difficult.
