Update -----
In short, nothing new.
A few observations on the situation wrt. nVidia:
As we know, Lion 10.7.4 x86_64 works. There's tons of graphical glitches however, and we see the same "Channel error" as in later versions. The difference being that these errors are not fatal under 10.7.4, so the OS still runs. The OpenGL framework has changed in the upgrade to 10.7.5, so maybe that has to do with it, as under 10.7.5 the WindowServer dies at the first graphical glitch. I'm trying to rollback the OpenGL framework, we'll see how that goes.
I'm almost positive now that the kernel component is not to blame, rather a framework is.

He is simply saying that his nVidia card is working on Mountain Lion DP1 with arch=i386. I don't think that's anything surprising, is it? (Hey, I hope it is!)
Il dit simplement que son carte nVidia marche avec Mountain Lion DP1 avec arch=i386. Je crois que ce n'est pas de surprise, n'est pas? (En tout cas, j'espère que c'est une bonne surprise!)

the login loop is something i have seen.. you can go and delete the failing dylib, no clue if that will fix it for ya.
/System/Library/Frameworks/OpenCL.framework/Libraries/libcldcpuengine.dylib
^^^ that procedure is just a bandaid really, we need to figure out a real fix

BAD NEWS:
where the graphics problems are gone, i now have sound problems.
I use the Hercules Dj Control Instinct, it is natively supported in osx.
it wil play the sound 3 seconds long, with a lot of distortion and then al sound is gone.

Right now i'm downloading 10.8.2

I will try to run int with sineteks mach_sse42_only , which flags are recommended?
I am actually hoping that the HD4890 wont have artifacts on this kernel aswell ![]()
Lets see!
sounds like TSC issue. (busratio)
