Seriously, do not run OS X Leopard. Chrome and Firefox are no longer supported on Leopard. It doesn't receive security updates from Apple any longer, and Leopard on the D600 was always more of an experimental thing than something that could be used daily.

It's been a very long time since I had OS X installed on my D600. At this point in time, I'd recommend against trying to install it. A lot of applications are transitioning to the Mac App Store, which is unavailable in versions prior to 10.6.8. That makes using Leopard even more of a pain to use on the D600.

If you want a modern OS to run on your D600, I would highly recommend CrunchBang Linux, a Debian-based Linux distro that uses the Openbox WM. It runs very speedily, uses little RAM, and has full hardware support for the D600 out-of-the-box. Better yet, it has a very active support community, and the developer, Philip Newborough, aka corenomial, is quite responsive to community requests.
