How did we learn? Experience. Experimenting. Studying... I believe this recipe can still work nowadays. There is also an "easier" route which works just fine: study very carefully what hardware works best and then build your own hack. +1

saved this very good post from google cache.: " I just realized what was going on over there. After so many of my civil posts were ghosted, simply deleted for no reason, I PM'd some people and they filled me in thatTonyMac is a commercial site and is only allowing comments that jive with what they are selling. I think that there new "hardware reviews" section is generating some form of kickbacks for them, because there is a relatively new thread on a new Synology NAS and they said that "it just works" - which is total BS because I have a synology NAS and it doesn't just work. It really depends on the state of Synology's software in relation to Apple's latest OS. Thanks for version 3. I will report. I see that with new version PCI begin/end is logged now (like unpatched orig.) :) thanks for help. this kext vanilla acpi solution. kextstat -l | egrep "com.apple" 11 1 0xffffff7f807ad000 0x57000 0x57000 com.apple.driver.AppleACPIPlatform (1.6) <10 9 7 6 5 4 3 1> Works again. But now I did not understand the difference. Υou made the correction on 10.8.2 kext ? this is too complex issue. This kext is not AAPL/BSD license.  Screen Shot 2012-09-13 at 10.02.55.png 131.42KB 73 downloads
