Kernel panic using modbin 9.2, 9.3, 9.4 kernels

11 July 2008 - 05:25 PM

Hi, all

I have an AMD system, and I've updated my system to 10.5.4, using

Everything works fine except the kernel

Now I'm stuck with 9.1 kernel, I've tried to use 9.2, 9.3, 9.4 modbin kernels, all gives me the same error

(start with -f)
dsmos: initialize
dsmos: hook and decryption context set!
panic(cpu 0 caller 0x001A8CD4) kernel trap at 0x3C312618, type 13=general protection (error1)

The weird thing is, if I restart the pc without -f now, it gives me error telling
"can't dertermine immediate dependencies for extension com.apple.driver.AppleACPIPlatform" (error2)

Can someone help me with this ?
I installed the system using retail DVD and updated it to 10.5.3, then to 10.5.4
PC efi v8 installed, using GUID partition table

System :
Opteron 146
ASUS A8N5x
ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro

EBook lovers, where's your CHM(Compiled HTML) thumbnial & preview ?

While Leopard handles pdf quicklook in a pretty nice way, most of my books are in CHM format, well I use chmox to read it, but it doesn't change the fact that it looks uglily in my finder, in the quicklook, especially when there're pdfs besides it.

So I decided to make a quicklook plugin for my CHMs, since there're some others for zip, xml, folder out there, I know it can be done, and here it is, the 1.0 release !

Download here

Oh yes, about how to install
Unzip it, take the proper package for you, put it inside /System/Library/Quicklook, and relaunch finder, enjoy !

Will Radeon HD 2600 work with Hackintosh ?

06 October 2007 - 09:41 AM

My X1600 just failed yestoday, and now I'm going to take a new video card.
After a little search on the web, I think Radeon HD 2600 is cheap and also quite powerful

Just want to know will this card work with hacintosh ? My old 10.4.8 works well with X1600, I don't want to break it
