installing tiger on a ibook with only a .dmg or .iso

14 April 2007 - 06:32 PM

I obtained tiger and it somehow came as a .dmg, so i converted to a .iso, problem is...i can't burn it on my pc (ibook did not come with superdrive)....so what to do, here's what i have

blank dvds
ultraiso for pc
panther on ibook
40gb 2G ipod
another ipod nano
3rd ipod nano
firewire cables!
tiger in both formats (.dmg AND .iso in PC / .dmg in ibook)

now i've tried burning .iso on the dvd (ultraiso just burned the bloody .iso thing on the dvd!

gaming pc or mac?

07 April 2007 - 11:24 PM

I got good grades (yay!)...which means i won't get a free cookie, but a new spanking computer ($3000 cap)...which is nice. I've been looking around, dreaming about an imac on my desk and having fun. But when i looked at the avaliable video cards, i was a bit more deterred, as I want to be able to play CS S smoothly on my mac (boot camp). Then I went on various custom pc sites, built my dream computer at the cap, and it seems like it's better. Here are what i want from a new computer:

-XP/OS X or X86 (that works)
-able to play CS S pretty good (clan really mad at me for lag)
-gotta be under 3000 USD/CDN (depends on the rate)
-big company (like dell, apple...mom just doesn't trust small companies)

obviously, i'm gonna get dual core, 250 gb of memory (gonna take out my old computer's hd and put them in the new computer), 1 gb or more memory, and a nice video card (for all those photoshop design/primere)

Monitor won't see anything after Apple logo

24 March 2007 - 11:13 PM

I installed 10.4.8 JAS perfectly, installed all the drivers in the installer, i then boot up to my MAC partition, the apple logo comes on, loads up...then it SHOULD go to the login window and instead...there's this:

1) computer STILL loading
2) Monitor doesn't detect anymore activity from PC
3) nothing works, can't see anytrhing

===for you guys...my specs:

SONY VAIO PCV RS320 (yeah..3 years old...and still going)

2 HD (120 GB/250 GB) EIDE

512 Ram

LCD monitor

ATI All in One Radeon 9800

P4SD-VX Mobo (OEM board for sony)

0xc00000fd error

20 March 2007 - 10:07 PM

everytime i try something there are some errors:

Steam/CS/BF

Application Error : The exception unknown software exception (0xc00000fd) occurred in the application at location 0x0f2850a7.

wtf? I tried unsucessfully to install OS X, so i redo my partition table with SFdisk and i log in, get the itch to play CS and start steam, then this error comes up. I already updated my XP SP 2, checked for HD defects, antivirus, registry...etc

That's one problem i can live with so far...but not this one:

I try to open WORD, or Bitcomet or Fifa, (any program on my D drive) and it pops the DOS and quits suddenly, nothing....so i look into event log and here's the problem:

Application popup: Alcohol 120%: Alcohol.exe - Bad Image : The application or DLL D:\alcholol\DevSupp.dll is not a valid Windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette.

wtf? There's nothing wrong with my computer (all i did was go on UBCD and check my mobo's chipset number!)

here's my hijack this:
