How do I flush my Extensions Cache? (-f)

20 January 2010 - 12:15 AM

Hi,

I'm having an issue, where I boot Snowleopard with chameleon, but my screen is black with a large pointer and the disk going mad!

This has only happened since i've been playing with chameleon's <Default Partition> tag. on a USB stick.

It didn't work as intended so I went into Snow Leopard to remove it, but I got the black screen described.

I booted into Leopard from another boot disk and removed the tag from chameleon USB.

Still getting the black screen, I decided to try booting without caches -f and it worked fine, so I'd like to ask, how do I flush the cache in snow leopard so that the next time I boot normally I will be ok?

Many thanks in advance.

Snow Leopard Vanilla Install cannot connect to internet

07 January 2010 - 11:40 AM

Hi all,

I am running 10.6.2 on an Asus P5Q Deluxe Board. The install is a vanilla install booting from a usb stick with the latest chameleon and minimal kexts in the Extra folder.

My issue is this;

When I installed SL, with the help of the Captain Nemo and Shaumux threads I was supplied with the following kexts:
appleYukon.kext and appleYukoninjector.kext

Using Kext Helper I installed them and I get internet connectivity- everything is fine!

When I reboot, I cannot get internet - the network control panel says that the ethernet address is self assigned and therefore cannot connect to the isp.

I tried changing the order of the ethernet to first and that didn't work.

I tried changing the ip to fixed the router and using DHCP with manual address, and that didn't work.

I'm now at the mercy of you guys, I've gone into the S/L/E folder and deleted the yukon kext and injector and reapplied them with kext utility but still nothing :(

The most frustrating thing of all, is that the ethernet/internet on my leopard installation works absolutely fine!

I am now totally at a loss as to what to do. please could someone give me some help!

iAtkos 5 on Asus P5Q Deluxe installation - where am I going wrong?

23 November 2009 - 02:55 PM

hello all,

I am running an Asus p5Q Deluxe with the Juzzi Modified Rom 2001.

I have installed iAtkos (this very second!) and have repaired the permissions and rebooted the machine with -v

In Yellow there are failed details and they read as thus:

Failed to load exptension com.apple.driver.AppleAHCIPort.

When I leave the iAtkos disc in the dvd drive, it just starts the installer up again.

Can anyone shed some light on what i'm doing wrong, or overlooking?

Sorry to be so thick!

(all drives set to AHCI, and ACPI 2.0 and ACPI support enabled in bios.)

(I have tried to boot with Boot123 but with the same result, however under boot123 the system still fails to see my OSX retail disc!)

enabling Mac Keyboard Features in Windows 7

29 October 2009 - 01:09 PM

Hi all,

I have a mac bluetooth keyboard and mightymouse which as one would expect works fine in my Leopard installation.

What i'd like to ask is whether I can get anything to allow me the full functionality when i'm in the windows OS, such as using the volume, brightness, eject and media buttons?

I see on my Leopard retail disc there is an .exe which shows up when you put the cd in windows, but i've always been a bit apprehensive about installing it.

also is it possible to get a control panel to allow me to switch between startup OS discs or am I stuck with bootloader?

Many thanks to you in advance

how do i stop email notifications?

15 September 2009 - 09:24 AM

Hi all,

I went into my control panels over three weeks ago to stop email notifications to topics and subscriptions.

Three weeks on, I still get an inbox full of notifications when i connect to my server.

Is this a bug in the forums software, or is there something i'm missing?

All tick boxes are unchecked in the settings apart from 'receive pm's' notification.

Thanks in advance?
