What you need:
0xED: http://www.suavetech...gi?0xED.tar.bz2
QE not working after 10.5.8 update.

1) Go to System Profiler (About this mac > More info)
2) Click Graphics/Displays, you need:
Device ID (The bit after 0x)
Vendor (The bit after 0x)

If your Device ID is 0x9460 and your vendor id is 0x1002, install this kext it will just work for you:

I'm pretty sure this should work for most if not all 4890 1024mb cards.

Ok now, download this kext if your ids don't match the above, then follow these instructions:

Open up the kext (Show package contents)
Go to (Inside the kext): /Contents/MacOS/
Move ATIRadeonX2000 out of there, but leave the window open, extract it to your desktop or something.

Now open up 0xED:
File > Open
Find the ATIRadeonX2000 and open it.

Now hit cmd+f (Find) and do the following:
Put in the search box: C071 (That's a zero)
Take your device id, and move the last 2 chars to the front (9460 becomes 6094)
Put that in the replace box and hit replace all.

Now hit cmd+f (Find) again and do the following:
Put in the search box: 71C0 (That's a zero)
Put your device id in the replace box (Don't change it at all)
Hit replace all.

Save the file.

Now go back to the kext and go to /Contents/info.plist open it with textedit or whatever you want (I used Coda, you don't have to, just use a text editor.)

Search for IOPCIMatch
In the <string></string> tag, look for your id, your id is this:
0x Your Device ID, Your Vendor ID

Mine would be 0x94601002

If you find it, just leave the file and skip this step.
If you don't, put that id (0x94601002 (USE YOURS, NOT THIS ONE!)) at the end, make sure there's a space before it. Then save the file.

Now move ATIRadeonX2000 back into /Contents/MacOS (You will need to give your password).

Install the kext and reboot, you should have QE/CI!







If you don't feel safe editing the kext yourself, post your vendor id + device id + name of your card so I can make one to give to everyone.

This weekend I'll be building my first Hackintosh (HTPC), and if it works ok I'll start putting together a Final Cut Pro Hackintosh to edit High Def HDV 1080i footage I've shot.

I'm pretty much set on everything but the video card:
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS4
Core 2 Quad Q6600
4GB 1066 RAM (2*2 Dual Channel?) (will 8GB help much in Final Cut Studio?)

I'll stick to a video chipset that's in a current Mac, so I'm looking to get either an Nvidia 7600GT, 8600T, 8800GT or ATI HD2600XT.

I know that the 8800 beats the 8600 beats the 7600 beats the 7300, but how much of that processing power does Final Cut actually use?

Will Final Cut be able to take advantage of two GT's running in SLI?

Anyone have any idea how a Q6600 system would stack up against a Mac Pro Quad 3 GHz (two double cores) in Final Cut performance?

Ok so at work, they have the campus videographer with some other media specialists. The main videographer uses Final cut pro studio with just recently a 2x quad core system. My job is for another department creating promotional videos but Im using a PC with CS3 suite.

All the HD .mov clips and interviews the campus videographer gives me that he has filmed and recorded utlizing FCP does not work with Adobe Premier Pro CS3, Adobe Premier Pro 2.0 or Final Cut Express 4.0 . The only way we can view it is through VLC. Even Quicktime Pro (windows and mac edition) will play them with sound only.

Ideas?

please I need information on the snow leopard format.because I have the snow leo dmg version.MBR_INSTALL_SNOW_LEOPARS_DVD5.dmg.how should I write it on a dvd.I am using nero for writting.beause when I insert the dvd with sl after pressing f5 no boot selection menu that I can see.so there is something that I am doing wrong.please help.

go into partitions, and partishion the disk with 1 partitions, chage it from current to 1 partition. after that restore, highlite the dmg and chouse restore.
