Just wondering, is it normal that I get the best results without using an ssdt nor generating C/P states by clover/chameleon?

The only thing I tick is the cupped patch.

 

Using PikerAlpha's script or settings in clover results in a slow hack and weirdnesses. Ivy bridge cpu.

Don't install in S/L/E, mentioned cd/Users/youuser/Downloads because it is easier.

 

Hi All@n, it is being loaded from Downloads (placing a dodgy kext in SLE is asking for problems).

Piker says that the kext KP's or craches the system for some mainboards, guess mine is one of them.

It is also not his intention to provide compiled kext's as he reasons it is not meant for the general audience and nitwits like me.

 

Actually, I am wondering why we should have states ranging from 8 till turbo. 8 makes the system unworkably slow. 

I currently have 16, 21, 28 and 34 (achieved by using the specs for my cpu using ssdtPRgen.sh) w/ smbios Macmini6,2.

 

If we would want it vanilla and how Apple does it for the iMac's, we should only have min and max (16 and 34Ghz).

That version of AppleIntelCPUPowerManagementInfo.kext you linked to, crashes my hack as soon as I load it. It is mentioned by Piker.

He suggests to compile the a fixed version from source. Tried that but the resulting kext fails to load. It is my first compile in xcode, so probably 

I am doing things wrong.

It is not common solution and so it is required some sophistication of Clover. Many users already complain that Clover is too hard to understand.

For my mind this patch can be performed by existing facilities

 

Thanks Slice, I will test this later today.

Regarding "hard to understand" for those coming from chameleon. My experience is that the first thing to understand is the UEFI part (which is a general thing).

As for the how clover does its work, it was logical and quicly understandble using the wiki. Great job on that.

 

What I found confusing is "new way" and "old way", the first does not replace the latter as I discovered later, whitch new and old does sugges to do at first.

Also deprecated things like IIRC "double states" for "GenerateIvyStates"  or the other way around.
