fully hackintosh compatible ATI video card with mini DisplayPort?

27 November 2013 - 12:23 PM

for use with the Apple 27" LED Cinema Display (A1316 MC007LL/A) 2560 x 1440 which only has ONE cable with a mini DisplayPort plug, in now Mountain Lion and later Mavericks.

$250 for Apple's ATI Radeon HD 5770 Graphics Upgrade Kit for Mac Pro MC742ZMA is too much for me.

Usage: heavy Adobe graphics/ video mix (Photoshop/ InDesign/ Illustrator/ Premiere/ Dreamweaver), all open at the same time .. Final Cut Pro will follow later.

Apart from that, here's what the card also needs to be able to deliver in 10.8.5 (and best 10.9):

  1.     dual-monitor: connect a 2nd one via DVI or HDMI
  2.     live resolution switching on both monitors w/o black or blue screens
  3.     fully working wake from monitor sleep AND wake from MacOS sleep on BOTH monitors w/o black or blue screens
  4.     ATY framebuffer negotiated correctly between the card and OS X
  5.     cooling fan(s) not too loud if possible

Sharing of best your personal experience or otherwise links or pointers would be very welcomed :)

Thank you,
Bugs

Which Logitech HD webcams are 10.9 compatible?

21 October 2013 - 12:02 AM

Logitech don't even specify if their two dedicated Mac models HD Webcam C615 and Broadcaster Wi-Fi Webcam are 10.9 compatible.. (comparison).

I am esp. interested in the C310 and the C525.

Accdg. to this posting at least the C310 works in 10.9.

If you have your supposed Windows-only Logi cam 720p or 1080p working in 10.9, feel free to share here:

  • working OOtB ("out-of-the-box", for our non-english members)

  • working by installing Logitech Webcam Software v. 2.2

  • working by installing Logitech Webcam Software with Vid HD v. 1.8

  • working by installing 3rd party driver, like MacCam

  • working by using AnV's UVC webcam working as Apple iSight

  • working with a different method - please explain

Thank you,
Bugs

PS: if you have a non-Logitech 720p or 1080p USB webcam working in 10.9, feel free to share, too. It's just that to me Logitech is usually (but certainly not always) a warrant for quality.

DEACTIVATE STUPID AUTO TOPIC RELOAD PLEASE! (deleting content of quick posts) ..

AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH :(

I rarely roar, but this NON-feature f**ed w/ me too many times .. I really do not see ANY sense in this AT ALL to begin with ..

At the VERY least I expect a WARNING, ESPECIALLY when I'm still typing, thus not even inactivity ..

Please for heaven's sake deactivate this UTTERLY stupid feature!!! I am aware when I click onto "More reply options", leaving the quick "Reply to this topic" at a topics end and entering the full reply mode, whatever I write STAYS in the edit window, even when I return after having answered a phone call or similar, BUT DON'T EXPECT USERS TO ALWAYS HAVE THAT IN MIND, esp. not when there's 10 things at the same time going on ..

OM(F)G, this auto-reload is a disgusting bug - PLEASE DEACTIVATE IT ASAP ..

Thanks
