I had some severe stability issues with 2.5.4 as well on a 82579V controller. I posted a thread here about it before reading through this one. The thread is here. Anyways I can confirm that all my issues went away after downgrading to 2.4.142.4.14 download: http://www.insanelym...000e/?p=1987137 Hint: when copying files from Windows network shares you get "copy error code -... The Finder can’t complete the operation because some data in ... can’t be read or written" --> Mavericks SMB2toSMB1 downgrade fix

Yes, it is possible. I am doing it on my MacBook3,1 to run 10.9. You just need to make your SMBios data in config.plist as close as possible to your real SMBios data, disable all DSDT fixes and other unneeded fixes, make sure you do not have any unneeded kexts in drivers64UEFI (such as AppleHFS, etc.), and also make sure you are not loading any unneeded kexts. Also, booting it via Refind like you did is fine and should work.  thank you so much, Pene, I'll try that tonight. How is Mavericks running on your MacBook3,1 - totally fine? Are you happy? Feel free to post a link to another topic as to not hijack this topic here too much.

interesting. I have been doing Mac and PC support for 18 years now and have all files for both, Mac and PC, on a shared 64GB FAT32 LBA USB Flash Drive (because many clients have both, Mac and PC, and some folders are shared, like Firefox, Thunderbird etc., and I realized at some point that my two separate HFS+ and NTFS formatted USB Flash Drives simply proved cumbersome on the job sites), and I need to say that I never ever had even ONE incident of any of my two 64GB FAT 32 USB Flash Drive clones were corrupt after having mounted them on a Mac (and believe me, I've done it THOUSANDS of times) .. Naturally I ALWAYS unmount via secondary click/ Eject (or if that does not work for some reason, force unmount). So I sure can not second your opinion, but am sure that others do something wrong, which consequently delivers errors.

Usual, I don't like to mount ESP in OS unless is a must, especial on OS X that is known for such love on fat driver, so unless you want to get in position to reformat the ESP better stay away of mounting ESP in OS X, my 2 cents.... Now that is something we can defiantly agree on!   :euro:wow - in other words, both of you must have personally experienced that by simply mounting the ESP in OS X, editing file or/and folder content, unmount, the ESP partition ID or/and FS type has changed.

Thanks for the final clarifications, joe75 and modbin, VERY much appreciated! I just received the board last night - it's not even built into the case yet .. so consequently I am not able yet to mount the ESP etc .. I have been trying to get as much information out of this and the OZbootloader thread as possible - and whenever I see contradictions by comparing posts and find them relevant, I inquire. I (and most others) need to for the largest part or at least somewhat rely on what's written here; therefore it's great that people like you and joe75 do take the time and finalize instructions by adding ALL details. I corrected my post.@BugsB /Volumes/EFI/Efi/Quo/ is correct path! Might want to get it right yourself.. THANK YOU!

I corrected my post.   To clear this up. On the Efi System Partition there is a Folder called EFI. So if you mount the ESP to /Volumes/EFI then the full path will be: /Volumes/EFI/EFI/QUO/ACPI/LOAD/DSDT.aml   Got it? In fact if you do mount the ESP instead of just speculating you will find the Folder layout already being created for you. But since this is the to...

on the ESP (EFI System Partition): copy .aml files (overriding any of the board's .AML) to /Efi/Quo/Acpi/Load copy kexts to: /Efi/Quo/Darwin/Extensions/Commonor (not preferred because it might be unclear to some) copy .aml files (overriding any of the board's .AML) to /Volumes/EFI/Efi/Quo/Acpi/Load copy kexts to: /Volumes/EFI/Efi/Quo/Darwin/Extensions/Commonthanks to joe75 and modbin for final clarifications!   I might have to agree with The KiNG. The integrated HD4000 is reasonably better than the 5450. Ive seen a chart, Ill look it up.5450 is better and intel graphics are junk.. and pears are better than apples ..   How about remembering that there are (at least) two three versions of the ATI 5450 HD, w/ 0.5, 1, and 2 GB RAM (not even mentioning mobile vs. Desktop in this context)? And that maybe the 512MB versions performs generally worse, and the 1 and 2 GB editions generally better than the Intel HD4000?   That in mind, it would be great if in general there was...

hey folks, relax .. ;) From reading MANY of THe KiNG's postings I have learned to know him as 100% authentic so I do not doubt his words. Mind they state 'WILL be open source' not 'IS open source' .. the point in time WHEN they release the source is COMPLETELY up to them, and needs to be respected. One reason is to protect their hard work in this toddler phase of the project .. Obviously there is a natural interest of some to apply the source to the EFI BIOS of competing similar boards like the Gigabyte Z77X UD5H .. Let them profit from their investment with this awesome kickstarter project first by selling a at least for them sufficient # of mobos (and parts).. thereafter the sources will get released to the public, as they promise. Just be patient.. ;)

#1904255 which low-profile card with DVI & HDMI is fully supported?

Posted by BugsB on 06 April 2013 - 03:15 AM

Hi theconnactic - I'm pretty happy with the 6670, see here. Just no working fb yet when having DVI + HDMI connected both at the same time. Unless switching to clover, I guess I'd have to edit DSDT etc. accdg. to manual. Other than that, all prerequisites DO work - THANK YOU :) (really amazed that DVD Player launches with generic ATY fb, that's a novum ..)

#1894874 Guide To Enable HD 5450 In 10.6.6 + Lion + Mountian Lion

Posted by BugsB on 07 March 2013 - 08:37 PM

not that I know of (unless development has taken place somewhere ..) Hi! HDMI outs are working with Lion or Mountain Lion? I'm interested in buying a HD5450 for my HTPC. Best regards! HDMI + VGA = OK HDMI + DVI: DVI is blackened out once loginwindow loads. The trick is to run a monitor-sleep app as login-item, then wiggle the mouse at some point to awake both monitors. Hi BugsB, Were you running multiple monitors? I seem to have things working with my Asus Radeon HD 5450 Silent 0x68e1 and can't get it to run multiple monitors. Chess crashes, but QE/CI does seem to be at least partially working, with animations and transparent menu working. Any help you could offer would be awesome.

#1852314 Dell Optiplex 755 DSDT, Vanilla SpeedStep+Sleep working.

Posted by BugsB on 12 September 2012 - 06:14 PM

have u tried BOTH different Ethernet kexts we can choose from for the 755, a) Intel82566MM.kext b) AppleIntelE1000e.kext? also I don't see a reason why not to apply the latest BIOS A21? Definitely before buying a new mobo .. Then load Setup Defaults in BIOS. A21 is working here just fine. And no more KPs or hangs thanks to VoodooLoader ..
